Is There Anything Similar to a Shodoof Anywhere Other Then Egypt??

Yes, there is a similar system used in Mesopotamia, to get water from the Tigris- Euphrates. I wonder if they are copiers, just kidding ha ha. Aside from ancient Egyptians, Samaritans from Egypt used these.

What Would Happen if You Pressed Down on the Weight if the Bucket Was Filled With Water?

The Shadoof can be used to drink or for irrigation. Because drinking out of a Shadoof would be AWESOME right!?!?!? But if you pull back the beam, when the bucket is filled, you can fling the water that was in the bucket into the fields to help the crops and grass grow.! That's one helpful contraption I'll say! :)

What Goes on the End of a Shadoof,?

On the other end of the pole, is a weight to help manage pulling up water from the stream. The weight helped make pulling up the water a whole lot easier especially if you are wimpy. But when you press down on the weight, it pushes on the bucket and forces it down into the river and that take water out of the river, and puts it in a canal! :)

What Can a Shadoof Pull Up With the Bucket...??

A Shadoof uses a bucket or a thick material or a bowl to pull up water from the Nile river to fill irrigation canals. The Shadoof is an awesome way to fill irrigation canals. Clap your hands for all those Shadoofs out there.!! :D

Who Was The Inventor of This amazing Contraption,? Pshh.. You Guessed it. FARMERS..!

Farmers invented this device, the Shadoof was a long pole balanced on a horizontal wooden beam. At one end of the pole was a weight and the other was a bucket. From what i have heard, they didn't always use buckets to pull up the water, they used a thick material or some sort of bowl to pull up the water. This device[shadoof] used to bring water up from the canals.
